Zinc Information

Zinc is a bluish-white metal that is a little less dense than iron. Zinc is hard and brittle but becomes malleable between 212-302F (100-150C) Zinc is a common alloy in many metals.

95% of Zinc is mined from sulfidic ore deposits, in which sphalerite (ZnS) is nearly always mixed with the sulfides of Copper, Lead and Iron.

Uses for Zinc include Galvanizing, making of Brass and bronze or in various other alloys.

Zinc has a melting temperature of 419.5C (787F).
