Stainless Steel is a steel alloy with a minimum of 10.5% chromium content. Stainless steel does not easily corrode, rust or stain like ordinary steel does.
Stainless steel is used in cookware, cutlery, household hardware, surgical instruments, major appliances, industrial equipment and as an automotive and aerospace structural alloy and construction material in large buildings. Storage tanks and tankers used to transport orange juice and other food are often made of stainless steel. Stainless steel is used for jewelry and watches, some gun models.
Stainless Steel has a melting temperature of 1510C (2750F).
